a swimmingpool in Kathmandu

Usually I am quite happy to opinionate and pontificate on matters that resonate with me for good or bad. The terrible quake in Nepal resonates strongly but unwarranted armchair chatter feels utterly inappropriate. I’ve got nothing to contribute. Silence is best. Others feel different and e.g. post fake images in cyberspace. Sad.

Through the Dutch connections of my previous employer, the Summit Hotel, these genuine images came to my attention. The hotel is build on somewhat higher grounds in the valley, not on the former lake-bed, and the quake was probably less amplified by lake sediment than in other areas. These images don’t contribute anything either. But they are personally as close as the news can get to me, so I make an exception.

About roger henke

Still figuring out the story line that would satisfy myself here. Listening to what my family and friends evoke, what the words I absorb, the images that move me, the movements that still me, point to.
